The wizard and the magic on his staff + the lighting it creates is great; especially with how it contrasts with the blue back/rim lighting. Always enjoy process posts. With this illustration it looks like you did not start with a pencil drawing (at least its not shown), like you've done in previous process posts, but jumped right into painting B&W to establish the under painting. Was that for speed in creating this illustration or just a new evolution of how you work? Thank you for sharing your process breakdowns.
